Terms of Service

Effective date: May 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Junk Drawer Journal (the "Service"), operated by The Junk Drawer Collective ("we", "our", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@thejunkdrawercollective.ca if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Your Content

You retain all rights to the photos, text, and other content you upload or create using the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You represent that you own or have permission to upload Your Content and that it does not infringe any third-party rights or violate any law.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, or sexually explicit material involving minors;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or our infrastructure;
  • Use the Service to send spam, malware, or to harass others;
  • Reverse-engineer or scrape the Service in a way that overloads our infrastructure;
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

5. Plans & Payments

The Service is offered on a freemium model: a free tier with limits, two paid subscription plans, and a one-time lifetime option. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and may change with reasonable notice; existing subscribers keep their current pricing for the duration of an active subscription.

5.1 Free

Free accounts include: 1 journal, up to 50 pages per journal, 1 PDF export per month, restricted sticker packs, and advertising on certain surfaces. See section 6 for the full limits.

5.2 Premium Monthly — CAD $4.99 per month

Renews monthly until cancelled. Unlocks unlimited journals, unlimited PDF exports, all sticker packs, premium photo frames, watermark-free exports, and removes ads. Cancel any time via the Customer Portal (Settings → Billing → Manage subscription); access continues until the end of the current paid period.

5.3 Premium Annual — CAD $39 per year

Same features as Premium Monthly. Renews annually until cancelled. Same cancellation path; access continues until the end of the current paid year.

5.4 Founders Lifetime — CAD $49 one-time

Limited to the first 500 customers. Permanent access to every premium feature we ship from purchase onward — no monthly bill, no renewal, no expiry. Includes a permanent Founder badge on the account. Once sold out, this tier will no longer be offered.

5.5 Payment & refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card details. For Premium Monthly and Premium Annual subscriptions you may cancel at any time; we do not pro-rate refunds for the unused portion of a period, but you keep access until that period ends.

Founders Lifetime is a one-time purchase that takes effect immediately and is therefore non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law. If you experience a billing error or the Service does not function as described, contact us at support@thejunkdrawercollective.ca within 14 days of purchase and we will review your case in good faith.

6. Free-Tier Limits

Free accounts are subject to these limits:

  • 1 journal at a time
  • Up to 50 pages per journal
  • 1 PDF export per calendar month, watermarked
  • Restricted sticker packs (premium packs require an upgrade)
  • Advertising on certain surfaces (dashboard, inbox, templates) — see our Privacy Policy section 6 for how the ads work and how to manage consent via the "Cookie preferences" link in the page footer

We may adjust these limits with reasonable notice.

7. Service Availability

We aim to keep the Service running reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to factors outside our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime.

8. Termination & Account Deletion

You may request account deletion at any time by emailing us at support@thejunkdrawercollective.ca. We will process your request and confirm completion within 30 days. Deletion removes your account, profile, journals, pages, uploaded media, folders, and all associated content from our systems, except where retention is required by law (for example, payment transaction records kept for 7 years for tax purposes — see our Privacy Policy section 4 for full details).

This deletion right is provided in addition to any statutory rights you may have under applicable privacy law (PIPEDA for Canadian users; the GDPR's Right to Erasure for users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom).

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination by us, your content will be deleted as described above and in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING YOUR OWN BACKUPS OF IMPORTANT CONTENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR CAD $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Ontario, Canada, unless prohibited by your local consumer law.
